INTRODUCTION:
Barcelona is the capital of the autonomous region of Catalonia (Spain) and the eponymous province, in northeastern Spain.
With a population of 1,605,602 inhabitants (INE 2006), Barcelona is the second most populous Spanish city and tenth in the European Union.
HOW TO GET THERE: Barcelona is a city well communicated either by land, sea and air. To access by land there is a vast network of highways, roads and the rail network.
TOURISM:
Barcelona offers the possibility to walk from the Roman ruins and medieval city until neighborhoods Catalan modernism, with its characteristic buildings, their square blocks of songs severed, its streets and its wide tree-lined avenues. The ancient city was virtually flat, while the new districts, as they are close to the coastal mountain range, become more outstanding. It is located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, about 120 km south of the mountain in the Pyrenees and the border with France, in a plain bounded by the sea, east, the coastal mountain range (Sierra Collserola) to the west, Llobregat River to the south, and Besós river to the north.
