One week ago We have organized a Squash Holiday for a English familiy. We organized a squash course for Barnes familiy. They enjoyed the sun in salou and the landscapes of Tarragona.
Some words from Dave Barnes:
Sun, See, Sangria and ….. Squash!
The plan was to have a relaxing family holiday sitting on the beach in beautiful Salou soaking up some rays along with a drop or two of the local Spanish culture, however, it wasn’t long before the Squash addict in me had arranged to take a short course with Tino.We played in the ancient city of Tarragona, which was incredibly easy to get to using the excellent local buses. Tarragona is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain and contains a number of magnificent examples of Roman architecture, including a complete gladiatorial arena. The club we played at was a short walk from the central bus stations and although it was under renovation at the time, the facilities and staff were excellent. I was particularly thankful for the air-conditioning while we were playing, but also the roof top swimming pool for afterwards.
For the past few months my game had hit a bit of a barrier and I wasn’t progressing despite practicing or playing almost daily. Tino was a superb host and a very skilled coach, immediately putting me at ease. After playing a few games he suggested some simple but effective changes to my swing and by the end of that lesson I found myself hitting the ball with increased pace and accuracy. Weather we were playing a game or practicing shots, Tino really pushed me to my limits but at the same time made it an enjoyable and rewarding experience. By the end of the holiday my game had jumped to the next level and I could feel the new techniques all working together to give me a more natural and fluid game. Tino also gave me some useful tips and techniques to help me maintain my progress.
Since returning to the UK and incorporating Tino’s training into my game my progress has been faster than ever. I have even recently represented my club at out 4th team level, which would have been beyond my expectations just a few months back. Thanks again Tino.
